Areas of practice

A few areas of law, known well

We keep our practice narrow on purpose. If your matter falls outside it, we will say so on the first call and suggest someone who can help.

  • Wills and trusts

Wills, living trusts and guardianship choices for your children, written in language you can follow.

    From $450
  • Probate and estates

Practical help for executors, from the first court filing to the final distribution.

  • Divorce and separation

Advice on property, support and next steps, whether you are negotiating or headed to court.

  • Custody and parenting plans

Schedules and agreements built around your children's school weeks and holidays.

  • Buying or selling a home

Contract review, title questions and the closing itself, for buyers and sellers.

    Flat fee $850
  • Powers of attorney

Financial and healthcare documents, so someone you trust can act for you if it is ever needed.

    From $225

Fees shown are starting points. Every matter gets a written estimate before we begin.

How we work

Straight answers, from the first call

Legal problems tend to arrive at hard moments: a death in the family, a marriage ending, the biggest purchase of your life. We keep the process as calm and predictable as we can.

That means explaining your options in plain English, putting fees in writing and telling you honestly when a fight is not worth what it would cost.

01

Honest odds

We tell you where you stand, risks included. We never promise a result.

02

Fees in writing

A written estimate before we start, and itemized bills you can actually read.

03

Calls returned

Replies within one business day, and updates before you have to ask for them.

Getting started

Three steps to a clear plan

  1. 1

    Call or write to us

Tell us briefly what is happening. We will say on that first call whether we are the right firm for it.

  2. 2

    Meet for a consultation

An hour in the office or by video to go through the facts, your options and the likely costs.

  3. 3

    Get it in writing

If you go ahead, you receive an engagement letter setting out the scope, the fee and the next steps.

Before you call

Is the first conversation free?

Yes, the first call is free. A full one-hour consultation is $150, and it comes off your bill if you hire us.

Can you tell me whether I will win?

No honest lawyer can promise an outcome. We will explain your realistic options, the risks of each and what we would do in your position.

How are your fees structured?

Wills, powers of attorney and home closings are flat fees. Other matters are billed hourly, with a written estimate up front and a call before we go over it.

Can we meet outside office hours?

Yes. We hold evening appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and most meetings can happen by video.
