Movement, understood.

A conversation about how you move, what feels difficult and the activities you want to get back to.

The movement plan

Begin with your everyday.

The activities that matter to you help shape the conversation. An appointment looks at your experience, movement and questions before discussing suitable options. The plan is reviewed with you and adjusted to your response; no particular outcome is promised.

Appointments

A plan in conversation.

Assessment and advice are tailored to the individual appointment.

  1. Initial assessment

Talk through your history and explore the movements relevant to your concern.

  2. Follow-up sessions

Review your response, questions and any changes to the plan.

  3. Everyday movement

Discuss ways to approach the tasks and activities that matter to you.

Your first visit

What to expect

  1. 1

    Call or request a time

Tell us what is going on. We check your insurance and find a time that works, often within the week.

  2. 2

    A full-hour assessment

We listen to the whole story, test how you move and explain what we find in plain English.

  3. 3

    Treatment from day one

Hands-on work in the room, plus a few exercises you can do at home in ten minutes a day.

  4. 4

    A plan with an end

We agree on goals and a rough number of visits, then check your progress every few sessions.

Common questions

Do I need a doctor's referral?
Often not. Many people can book physical therapy directly, but some insurance plans ask for a referral. We check yours before your first visit.
Do you take insurance?
We work with most major plans and also offer a self-pay rate. Call with your insurance card and we will check your coverage.
What should I wear?
Loose, comfortable clothes. Shorts for knee and hip problems, and a tank top for shoulders and necks.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on the problem and your goals. We give you an honest estimate at the first visit and update it as you go.

Tell us what is getting in the way.
